Meet the lawyers

LOUIS M. SILBER

Mr. Silber graduated from the University of Maryland where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  He earned his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.  Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Silber was an Assistant State Attorney for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County.  Subsequently, Mr. Silber became a member of Cone, Wagner, Nugent, Johnson, Hazouri and Roth law firm.  Within a very short time, he became a partner with that firm.  In 1983, Mr. Silber and Barbara Pariente formed the firm of Pariente & Silber, P.A., which lasted until 1993, when Ms. Pariente was appointed to the Fourth District Court of Appeal by Governor Lawton Chiles, and was later appointed to the Florida Supreme Court.  Mr Silber has been a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer since 1983.  He is also board certified as a Business Litigation Lawyer, being re-certified in 1988,1993, and 1998.  He is a member of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers (EAGLE Sponsor) and has served on its Board of Directors.  He also is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA),the Palm Beach County Trial Lawyers Association and The Trial Lawyers of America.  Mr. Silber is a frequent lecturer for these organizations.  Mr. Silber specializes in personal injury, insurance, consumer commercial litigation, civil rights and women’s reproductive rights.  Many of his cases involved Class Actions.  Mr. Silber has been awarded the Palm Beach County Civil Litigation Pro Bono Award, the Planned Parenthood Special Advocacy of Women Award and was the first male to receive the Susan B. Anthony Award.

PHILIP L. VALENTE



Mr. Valente graduated from High Point University in North Carolina in 1986 and earned his law degree from Mercer University, in 1989.  Mr. Valente was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1989, the Federal Bar for the Southern District of Florida in 1990 and the Federal Trial Bar in 1990.  Mr. Valente is Board Certified in civil trial law and is also an instrument rated pilot.  Mr. Valente is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, Palm Beach County Trial Lawyers, the National Association of Consumer Lawyers and the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association.  He has handled numerous aircrash cases including the Valuejet crash and the South Florida Water Management District Helicopter crash.  He has handled and is litigating aircraft related claims such as insurance and performance issues.  Mr. Valente primarily handles wrongful death and complex personal injury cases, as well as consumer protection and commercial litigation cases.  Mr. Valente is regularly retained and consulted with on consumer protection cases on a class representation basis.  Mr. Valente is a frequent lecturer around the state for the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers on such topics as voir dire, trial strategies, and the handling of collateral sources.

ALLISON J. DAVIS

Ms. Davis graduated from the State University of New York at Albany, Cum Laude and with Honors in Philosophy.  Ms. Davis earned her law degree from Nova Southeastern University, with the following honors: Cum Laude, Law Review, Moot Court Society, Best Appellate Brief, Book Awards and the Corpus Juris Secundum Award.  Ms. Davis is admitted to the Florida Bar and the Federal Bar for the Southern District of Florida.  Prior to her joining the firm, Ms. Davis was an Assistant State Attorney for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County.  As an Assistant State Attorney, Ms. Davis was lead counsel on hundreds of felony and misdemeanor jury trials, juvenile and dependency proceedings and termination of parental rights trials.  Ms. Davis is a member of The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, Palm Beach County Trial Lawyers, Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.  Ms. Davis has authored several seminar articles on topics such as Florida Sanctions Law, Mental Anguish, Admissibility of Scientific Evidence and Expert Witnesses.  Ms. Davis regularly handles insurance litigation, wrongful death, personal injury, commercial litigation, insurance bad faith, employment litigation and consumer protection cases, as well as appellate matters.
